WINTERTIME NUTRIENT BOMB

According to my grandmother, the black radish must be sown on the 10th Friday after the Easter, so it wouldn ́t grow “hollow”. The radish root is harvested when the first frost kisses the soil. Thus, it gathers all the necessary nutrients, useful for relieving the cough and the cold during the wintertime.

Black radish contains 3/4 of Vitamin C daily-recommended dose. Therefore, it is considered a strong immune booster. It is unlikely to find black radish dishes in other European cuisines. That’s why I consider it deserves a special place on
our menus. Despite of the specific odor that invades the entire house, I continue to love this salad, especially for its power to awaken your appetite.
